During a road trip to Syracuse, NY, last weekend to see my daughter in a play at Syracuse U., and take home some of her apartment clutter, I picked up a quart of this Wake Robin Farm yogurt at the classic Syracuse Real Food Co-op. I put it in our plug-in cooler for the eleven-hour drive back to Chicago, and finally tasted it back home. Unquestionably, the creamiest, most flavorable I’ve ever tasted.
I had scoped out this farm and several others in the area from the Co-op website before the trip, and had hoped to squeeze in a few visits, since a number of great little farms are located not far outside Syracuse. But, the clutter packing dominated the weekend, so we couldn’t get out to any farms. We settled for browsing the local farm products stocked at the Co-op instead. When I told my daughter how great the yogurt was, she told me she buys it all the time at Wegmans, the big regional grocery chain. It’s impressive that Wegmans would carry products from such a small local farm. Next trip, we’ll make time to visit the farm, and make sure we have a lot of room in the cooler to stock up.
